Dermatology Referrals

We are happy to accept referrals to our highly-trained, Advanced Practitioner in Dermatology, both from our registered clients, and other practices at our Veterinary Hospital in Christchurch.

Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Dermatology

We are delighted to have Alyson Richardson join us at Priory. Alyson qualified as a vet in 1990, and gained her Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology in 1997. She is an Advanced Practitioner in this field and is interested in all things skin – regularly attending UK, European and World conferences for the latest information and ideas.

She is happy to see any Dermatology cases, and particularly enjoys working with allergic skin disease, lip fold infections, pododermatitis, ear problems, lumps, bumps and patches on skin.

The Dermatological Process

Aly consults on a Tuesday, from our Christchurch hospital. All clients are sent a questionnaire to complete, prior to the appointment, so that she can really make the most of her time with the client and their pet.

Standard Dermatology appointments are an hour long, and typically include a parasite check, skin scrapes and microscopic exam, to look at the skin cells and check for infectious agents. Following the consultation, a comprehensive report is emailed to the client, and the referring vet, to promote better long-term management of her patients.

If you are registered at Priory, are concerned that your pet has a skin condition, and would like Aly to examine them, please contact our client care team.

In addition to treating patients of Priory Veterinary Group, Aly is now accepting referrals from other veterinary practices. If you are a referring vet, please use the referral form or call us on 01202 484466.
