Our Ethos – The Independent Practice for our Local Community.
Priory Veterinary Group are fully-committed to serving the local community by offering sustainable veterinary care, tailored to the individual needs of our patients and their families.
Our Ethos
“We are passionately committed to remaining a locally-owned, independent veterinary practice that provides a personal service based on honesty and compassion no matter the time of day. We will ensure all pets are treated with kindness and dignity and that treatments are tailored to individual needs.”
Our absolute priority is you and your pet.
Our independent status means our vets are not bound by the constraints of corporate policies feeding the interests of private equity funds. We will always put our patients’ needs first, and offer treatment options tailored to individual circumstances.
Priory is committed to keeping the traditional values of personal service and dedicated on-site 24 hour provision, whilst continuing to offer quality service at affordable prices.
Staying independent with a little help from our XL friends…
In 2018, we became a member of XL Vets, a community of independently owned veterinary practices, who share our values and commitment to quality service. The collaboration with other practices across the UK, and the support from like-minded vets in business, have been invaluable in keeping us competitive as the number of corporate practices in the region continues to grow. Priory at the heart of our local community.
We are proud of our local heritage, and appreciate all of our clients’ support for our continuing independence. Our place in the community is important to us, and we try to be as active as we can by supporting local businesses and charities as much as possible, including our participation in the Cats Protection League neutering scheme.
Caring for the environment
At Priory Vets, we recognise the importance of working in a sustainable manner for the long-term health of the environment. We are proud of our ‘green team’ made up of dedicated members of staff, who meet regularly, in order to assess ways of improving our carbon footprint, without compromising on our high standards of patient care or our ethos.
Areas we have identified to review, and are actively improving on include:
- ERenewable energy use
- EReduced reliance on single use items
- EIncreased recycling
- EBiodiversity around the practice
- EReduced paper wastage
- EGreener ways of waste disposal
We are working with staff, suppliers and clients regarding this policy, and continually evaluating our progress in making our practice as environmentally-friendly as possible.
